The journey Began when Shri Harendra Gupta came to Mumbai & challenged himself to start Business in Mumbai without too much of support from Family & Friends. He Started from a rented shop of 100 Sq ft at V.V Chandan Street, Masjid Bunder, Mumbai.
Grand father Shri ratiram Gupta would arrange to send Glass material in Goods Train and Gupta ji would arrange to take delivery from train, get material, repack it and sell it.
He focussed on Whole sale Trade.
He purchased Bajaj scooter so that he could meet dealers frequently. He travelled across the city Mumbai and made dealers all over.
Gupta ji purchased a Shop of 400 Sq ft in Chakla market - of Masjid Bunder, Mumbai. He made a display showroom . It was a kick start to his carreer . He added variety of Glass range. The shop soon became known for its Large variety. The Name began : “Gupta Traders”
He had dedicated Team of Hanuman, Mohan, Sarvar and Ganesh.
Guptajis Ever smiling face earned him loyals from customers and Friends. Many gave him a feedback that “guptaji is very courageous and he can take up any challenge in life - with ease”.
Gupta ji purchased a Large Shop in Chakla market – of Masjid Bunder, Mumbai. This was approx 850 Sq ft. It had an advantage of being on the Main road . The Display area became large. Now Guptaji could also stock several Branded Glass ware.
Manish being the eldest son joined the business in 1987. Umesh, the 2 nd son took charge of Gupta Traders in 1996. He started his focus on Manufacturing.
Sunil , the youngest son joined Gupta Traders after completing his graduation.
Gupta ji passed the baton to his 3 children and rendered Values for Business. Integrity, Hard work and Discipline – was his core values which we live till date.
Gupta traders made its 1 st Presence in Exhibition in Nehru Centre, Mumbai at Giftex. We received an order of 4 containers for Exports In the 1 st exhibition. It boosted our confidence and led to participation in several more exhibitions.
The quality product and Attractive prices enabled Gupta traders to start – Modern retail with Big bazaar. We started supplies at 11 stores and rented a large ware house at bhiwandi, Mumbai to process the material . We Rented a ware house of 2200 sq ft at Kaveri Kunj Firozabad, U.P. The material was being stored, Bar coded, Sorted and despatc hed to the stores.
Gupta traders Started with Corporate Gifting with a tag Line “Glass products from Rs. 2 to Rs. 10” .
The Largest stall at Giftex Exhibitions, Mumbai called for attention to the team to Reliance Retail.
Gupta Traders started supplies to Reliance Retail. Pharma Gifting began as new segment of Gifting.
Opened up a retail outlet in prime mall, Vile Parle, Mumbai. It was a Brand building activity and invited the attention of Aditya Birla Retail. We began supplies to “More” stores. We took business training from Mr Sameer surve and Business was scaled to new heights. We added another Big Retail Player “Metro cash & carry”.
Quantity Purchase Scheme (QPS) Large Order was bagged from Future Retail. 2 products were developed . Order size was Rs. 6.5 Crore – Highest ever in the history of Gupta Traders Total Order was 65 Trucks and delivered in 72 days time. It involved a huge team of Repackers and the production was scaled up. Glass Ideas – as a Brand was developed. The Logo was developed in Phased manner. With multiple Brain storming, the Logo of Glass Ideas – “GI” was derived as a Flick. The thought behind the flick was that Ideas come at any moment and Ideas are un-limited. A dedicated Designer was positioned to develop a Box Packaging and designing for Glass Ideas Brand. A New name was incorporated “ Glass Ideas India Pvt Ltd ”. Vision was Outlined along with Values New sales Team was developed to maximise the reach.
Glass Ideas Started operating from its new office – 704, Mayuresh Cosmos, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai with new Team to service the Corporates and Large Retail co.
Glass Ideas started supplies to these Modern retails stores Spar, D Mart, Home Town, At Home, Reliance Market.
Glass Ideas became Registered Vendors for these corporates : Ipca, Fdc, Unilever, Coca Cola, Itc, Diageo, Sula wines, Girnar Tea, Society Tea and Wagh bakri Tea and many more.
